APEC agrees to strengthen cooperation to accelerate tourism recovery
International Business News – According to reports, after the conclusion of the 11th APEC Tourism Ministers’ Meeting, the tourism ministers of APEC member economies unanimously agreed to strengthen cooperation to accelerate the development of tourism.
Following the conclusion of the 60th APEC Tourism Working Group meeting and the 11th APEC Tourism Ministers’ Meeting, the government of Thailand, the APEC 2022 host country, released a statement titled “The Tourism of the Future: Renewable Tourism”, highlighting the 21 member economies cooperation between entities.
Pipat, Minister of Sports and Tourism of Thailand, said the delegates exchanged experiences in promoting the recovery of various economies and discussed how tourism can maintain its role as an industry that brings many benefits and happiness to people.
Pipat emphasized that APEC member economies have agreed to strengthen economic cooperation, which will help improve the flow of goods, investment and people, and strengthen the recovery of tourism.
“New uncertainties and challenges increase the need for us to strengthen our cooperation and accelerate our work on sustainable tourism to achieve our vision of an open, vibrant, strong and peaceful Asia-Pacific community by 2040,” stressed Pipat.
